1. Never dig straight up or straight down
Why? Because you might find lava on top of your head, or below you.
Sand or gravel can also cause damage to you when they fall on you.
You might also fall into a deep hole and die.
2. Always have a "BLOCK" on your number pad
You might not know, but as an advanced minecraft player, I can tell that it is extremely useful.
When it comes to lava or water, the best way is to block it.
You might also find it useful when you are building a safety bridge. (Will be introduced in the next few SE tutorials)
3. Use combat techniques to fight against monsters
Combat techniques will be introduced in the minecraft tutorials.
4. Use super flat mode to make your life easier in creative mode
Super flat mode creates a surface which is completely flat.
It is really useful in creative mode as you do not have to flatten the ground.
5. First thing to do in the nether : Find the fortress
In the fortress, there are blaze and nether warts, which is needed for brewing.
Kill a blaze and get some nether warts. Farm some nether warts and use the rest for brewing.
Once you have a fire resistance potion, you can then mass produce blaze rods.
6. First food : Apples
Always take apples as your first food, it is easily obtained by cutting apple trees down.
Leaves drop if the whole tree has been cut off. If you cut off an apple tree, you are likely to get some apples dropping with saplings.
7. Wood collection
You will never know when you are running out of wood, and you should always keep a few sets in your home.
Wood logs are actually charcoal (Check minecraft tutorial 02)
They are used in tools, fences, torches, weapons, chests, crafting tables.... and a lot more things.
8. Never do anything holding a bucket full of lava
I twice burned my house and all my items with lava, and you will not like doing the same.
9. Hold shift to prevent from falling off the edge
It prevents you from moving yourself in the y axis (height)
You will move slower, the eye sight will lower a little and you will not be able to fall or jump
10. Light the places that you go with landmarks
